La Casa de Amistad is a not-for-profit, charitable organization, which functions as a communitycenter on the west side of South Bend. It was founded in October 1973 as a youth outreach program in resonse to the many needs confronting Hispanic teenagers. Founded by Fr. John Phalen, C.S.C., La Casa de Amistad offered various programs in an effort to assist Hispanic youth in selfacceptance and knowledge of the Hispanic culture of which they are a part. In 2018, La Casa identified a recently closed Charter School as its new home and invited w/Purpose in an Owners Rep position to ensure the new center’s design and interior feel connected culturally with its donors, patrons, needed services. In 2021 La Casa opened its doors to the public.
